WeTalkRugby is a place to argue about rugby. Argue hard — just argue about the rugby.

What works here

Strong opinions, backed up. Tell us why the scrum fell apart, not just that it did. Disagree with each other and with us. Some of the best comments here will be the ones telling us we got it wrong.

What gets removed

Abuse aimed at a person rather than an argument. Racism, sexism, homophobia, sectarianism — no warnings, no second chances, and that includes the “banter” version. Threats. Personal information about anyone. Spam, referral links, streaming links. Impersonating a player, coach or referee.

On referees

You can say a referee had a shocker. You cannot say he was bent, bought, or that he should be harmed. That line matters, and we will hold it in both directions — no matter which side benefited.

On rivalry

Ireland–England, Wales–England, South Africa–New Zealand: this is what a rugby comment section is for. Wind each other up. Just remember there is a person at the other end who probably loves the game as much as you do.

How moderation works

Your first comment is checked by a human before it appears. After that, your comments go live immediately. If you sign in with Google, your comments go live from the start.

Anyone can flag a comment with Report. Three reports pull a comment out of view until we look at it — that is not a verdict, it is a pause.

If you are removed, it is usually one comment. If it keeps happening, it is your account, and we ban by email and IP.

Getting it wrong

We will occasionally remove something we should not have. Email [email protected] or use the contact page and we will look again. We would rather over-explain than run a comment section where people do not know where the line is.

Your data

What we store when you comment, how long we keep it and how to get it deleted is set out in our Privacy Policy.
