Nolann Donguy

Nolann Donguy was placed in October 2025 on the joint league and federation programme that releases players to the France sevens squad, with the 2028 Olympics as the target. He was nineteen, and had played one league match.

Wing at Racing 92, 1.83m and 85kg, and 20 years old.

His father Yves played professionally, and the son started at four, near Toulouse. The junior career after that was unusually itinerant: Aubergenville, Plessis-Robinson and Boulogne-Billancourt before Racing took him in 2019 and put him in the academy six years later.

He was brought up as a fly-half and moved to the wing because he was quicker than the position needed. A ruptured cruciate ligament cost him most of 2023-24.

France called him into the under-20 squad in late January 2025 and his club gave him a debut a month later, in a win at La Rochelle. He played the last two rounds of a Six Nations that France won, then started twice in the pool stage of the junior world championship in Italy, scored, and played the third-place match.

The 2025-26 season brought a proper run of rugby. Every Challenge Cup match went to him, with two tries in the competition, and he moved further into the Top 14 rotation.

The sevens placement is the part that will decide the next three years. Players on that programme split their season between two codes and two coaching staffs, and the ones who come back to fifteen-a-side full time usually do so having lost ground on their contemporaries or having gained something nobody else has.

A quick converted fly-half with a Six Nations medal at junior level, an Olympic programme place, and a decision to make in three years about which form of the game he belongs to.
