Theo Chabouni

Théo Chabouni scored on his professional debut, on the wing, in a 64-27 defeat to London Irish in the Challenge Cup in April 2022. He was eighteen.

Full-back at Castres, 1.82m and 85kg, born in Vitrolles on 22 December 2003.

He learned the game at Pennes-Mirabeau Cadeneaux and was at Provence Rugby from 2016 to 2021 before Castres took him. He has been studying for a multimedia and internet diploma alongside it.

In November 2024 he signed three more seasons, to 2028. That year he became a regular starter, taking the shirt gradually from Julien Dumora, who had been his mentor at the club and who retired in 2025. Inheriting a position from the man who taught you it is an unusual way to arrive.

His best match came in the Champions Cup last sixteen against Benetton. He scored, and finished the game at fly-half after Louis Le Brun was injured, which is the kind of afternoon that changes how a coach sees a player.

The Midi Olympique gave him its young player award in June 2025, the season he first held the shirt for a full campaign.

He is 22, holds a first-team shirt in the Top 14 and is contracted for three more years. He has already played full-back, wing and fly-half at senior level, which at his age is worth more than being settled in one of them. Castres have a visible record of promoting from within, and he is the current proof of it. The step that has not come yet is a France call at any level.
