Murrayfield holds 67,144 and is Scotland’s national stadium, in the west of Edinburgh. It is the largest stadium in Scotland in any sport.
Murrayfield capacity
The ground seats 67,144 following the 1994 rebuild that replaced the old terracing. Before that it was capable of holding far more standing spectators — the 1975 Scotland v Wales match is generally credited with a crowd of around 104,000.
Flower of Scotland
The pre-match singing at Murrayfield is the ground’s signature. Flower of Scotland was adopted by the SRU in 1990, the year Scotland beat England here to win the Grand Slam.
Who plays at Murrayfield
Scotland play home Six Nations and autumn Tests here. Edinburgh Rugby moved out to their own ground next door in 2021.
