Optus Stadium holds 60,000 and stands at Burswood on the Swan River, across from central Perth. It is Australia’s second-largest rugby venue and hosts Wallabies Tests in the Western Australia window.

Optus Stadium capacity

The ground seats 60,000. It opened in 2018 as a multi-purpose venue, and its oval configuration means rugby is played on a pitch laid inside a much larger playing surface.

Rugby in Perth

Perth’s distance from the eastern seaboard has made it a useful neutral-feeling home Test venue. Bledisloe Cup matches staged here have drawn some of the largest Australian rugby crowds outside Sydney and Brisbane.

Rugby World Cup 2027

Optus Stadium is among the venues named for the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia.
