About Peato Mauvaka
Peato Mauvaka is the most destructive ball-carrying hooker in Test rugby and has spent much of his career as France’s second choice.
That is a statement about Julien Marchand rather than about him. France have carried two hookers of genuine international quality for most of the last cycle, and the split has generally been Marchand starting and Mauvaka arriving after fifty minutes to run at a tiring pack.
