Accor Stadium holds 84,000 and is Australia’s largest rugby venue, in Sydney Olympic Park at Homebush. The Wallabies use it for the Tests that need the seats.
Accor Stadium capacity
Capacity is 84,000, reduced from the 110,000 configuration built for the 2000 Olympics. The temporary end stands came down after the Games and the ground was reshaped into a rectangular configuration.
The world record crowd
The largest crowd ever to watch a rugby union match came here on 15 July 2000, when 109,874 saw Australia beat New Zealand 35-39 in the Bledisloe Cup. The stadium was still in Olympic configuration.
Rugby World Cup
It staged the 2003 Rugby World Cup final, England beating Australia 20-17 after extra time through Jonny Wilkinson’s drop goal.
