Twickenham holds 82,000 and is the largest stadium in the world built specifically for rugby union. It has been England’s home since 1909 and took the Allianz naming rights in 2024.
Twickenham capacity
The ground seats 82,000. The South Stand was the last to be rebuilt, completed in 2006, which brought the ground to its current bowl.
Why it is called the Cabbage Patch
The land was a market garden before the RFU bought it in 1907, and the nickname has stuck for over a century.
Who plays at Twickenham
England play every home Six Nations and autumn Test here. It also stages the Premiership final and Harlequins’ Big Game each December, when the club move the short distance from The Stoop.
