One NZ Stadium is Christchurch’s permanent replacement for Lancaster Park, and the Crusaders’ new home. It is the first fully roofed major stadium built in New Zealand since Forsyth Barr in Dunedin.
Who plays at One NZ Stadium
The Crusaders play Super Rugby Pacific here, having moved from the temporary Apollo Projects Stadium that served the city for over a decade after the 2011 earthquake.
Replacing Lancaster Park
Lancaster Park was condemned by the February 2011 Canterbury earthquake. Christchurch spent fifteen years without a permanent major stadium before this one opened.
