Geronimo Prisciantelli

Gerónimo Prisciantelli arrived in Paris for two reasons that had nothing to do with him: Zebre Parma were in financial trouble and released him a year early, and Racing 92 needed to replace Owen Farrell, who had gone back to England. He then scored twice against Wales and was named man of the match.

Full-back, fly-half or centre at Racing 92, 1.83m and 86kg, and 27 years old.

Buenos Aires is his home city and Club Atlético San Isidro gave him the game at four, in a family of Italian descent. He came through the provincial under-19 championship and into the senior side in 2019.

The Jaguares XV took him in 2021 and won the South American competition in his first season, with him on the bench for the final against Peñarol. He was used mostly at full-back that year and mostly at fly-half the next.

Three seasons in Italy followed. Zebre used him across the back line, extended him in March 2024, and settled him at full-back for a third year in which he played the best rugby of his career.

Argentina took a long time over him. He was in three squads without being used before finally winning a cap off the bench against Australia in September 2025, and started at fly-half against South Africa a month later. The two tries against Wales came on that November tour.

A three-position back with a good boot, and a Top 14 squad place that came about through somebody else’s finances and somebody else’s transfer.
