FNB Stadium holds 94,736 and is the largest stadium in Africa. It sits in Nasrec, south-west of Johannesburg, and stages the third Test of the 2026 Rivalry Tour on 5 September.
FNB Stadium capacity
Capacity is 94,736, comfortably ahead of any other rugby venue on the continent and larger than Twickenham. The exterior was rebuilt for 2010 in the shape of a calabash, the African cooking pot, which is where the nickname comes from.
Rugby at FNB Stadium
It is a football ground first — Kaizer Chiefs are the regular tenants — and rugby arrives only for occasions that need the seats. South Africa have used it for Tests against New Zealand when demand outstrips Ellis Park.
Getting there
Nasrec sits roughly 10km from central Johannesburg, with the Nasrec station on the rail line serving match days.
