Newcastle Red Bulls revealed their 2026/27 home and away kits on Thursday, replacing last season’s black and gold with a dark blue home shirt and a white away strip. The VX3-made kits are on sale now through the club’s online store and will be worn for the first time against Doncaster Knights at Kingston Park on Friday 28 August.
Adult and women’s-fit shirts are priced at £59.99, with junior shirts at £39.99 and infant sizes at £34.99. Season ticket holders and seasonal hospitality clients will be contacted directly about a 10% discount, and the initial launch is online only.
Flown in by the Flying Bulls
The reveal itself was staged in Austria. The kits were flown into the club’s pre-season camp in Salzburg by the Flying Bulls, Red Bull’s historic aircraft fleet, before the squad modelled them at Hangar 7 at Salzburg Airport. Wing Christian Wade, scrum-half Raffi Quirke, centre Chris Harris and No 8 Hoskins Sotutu all featured in the shoot.
This is the first Newcastle kit designed from the ground up under Red Bull ownership. Last September’s black home shirt and gold away shirt arrived days before the season began and leaned on club history — Newcastle wore black with gold trim when they won the 1997/98 Premiership title as a newly promoted side. The new palette drops that reference entirely and moves the club closer to the look of Red Bull’s other sporting properties, where navy, white and red do most of the work.
It is also the first kit launch tied to A New Dawn, the club’s branding for a season that brings 23 new signings and a new head coach in Dan McFarland, who arrives from Kobelco Steelers in Japan League One.
The rebuild is needed. Newcastle’s first campaign as the Red Bulls ended with a run of heavy defeats at Kingston Park and away, including a 76-17 home loss to Harlequins in round 15 of the Gallagher PREM.
Where to buy, and when you’ll see it
Supporters in the North East get a second event before the kit’s on-field debut. The club has said it will run a series of airdrops across Newcastle, Gosforth, Morpeth, Carlisle and Darlington on Friday 21 August, giving away shirts and Red Bull.
Doncaster Knights visit Kingston Park on Friday 28 August with a 7.45pm kick-off, tickets at £10 for adults and £5 for U23s, followed by a pre-season double-header against Rotherham Titans and Glasgow Warriors on Saturday 5 September. Competitive rugby starts away to Leicester Tigers in the PREM Rugby Cup on Saturday 12 September, before Newcastle open their Gallagher PREM season away to champions Northampton Saints on Friday 25 September.
