About Dan McFarland
Dan McFarland was announced as Newcastle Red Bulls head coach in April 2026 and started that summer, taking over a club renamed after Red Bull’s purchase of the former Newcastle Falcons. He succeeded interim coach Stephen Jones, who had stepped in when Alan Dickens left in March 2026. McFarland previously spent five years as Ulster head coach and worked with Connacht and the Scotland national side.
