Apollo Projects Stadium holds 17,104 and served as the Crusaders’ home for more than a decade after the 2011 Canterbury earthquake destroyed Lancaster Park.
Apollo Projects Stadium capacity
Capacity is 17,104. It was built in 100 days as a temporary venue in Addington and ended up in service far longer than anyone intended.
A temporary ground that lasted
The February 2011 earthquake wrecked Lancaster Park, the Crusaders’ home since the franchise began. The replacement was open, uncovered and modest — and the Crusaders won seven straight Super Rugby titles from 2017 while playing there.
What happened next
Christchurch’s permanent replacement, One NZ Stadium, has since taken over as the city’s main venue.
