Eden Park holds 50,000 and is New Zealand’s largest stadium, in the Auckland suburb of Kingsland. The Blues play Super Rugby here and it is the All Blacks’ primary Test venue.
Eden Park capacity
The ground seats 50,000. It began life as a cricket ground and still hosts Black Caps matches, which is why the stands sit at the angles they do.
The Eden Park record
New Zealand’s home record here is the most striking thing about the venue. The All Blacks have not lost a Test at Eden Park since France beat them in 1994, a run that has survived several generations of side and outlasted most of the players who built it.
World Cup finals
Eden Park has staged two Rugby World Cup finals. New Zealand beat France 29-9 in 1987 and 8-7 in 2011, both on this ground.
