Brad Mooar becomes head coach of the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua, appointed in July 2026 on a two-year contract effective from September 2026, with the 2027 campaign his first season in charge. The Drua were coached through 2026 by Glen Jackson, who left at the end of the season after five years at the club.
Born in August 1974, he was a first five-eighth for Christchurch Football Club, Mid Canterbury and Canterbury B, with no first-class or international caps. He qualified and worked as a solicitor before moving into full-time coaching.
Crusaders, the All Blacks and back
He coached in South Africa with the Eastern Province and Southern Kings, led Southland in the NPC, then became Crusaders attack coach from 2016 — part of the first three titles of their seven-year run. He was head coach of the Scarlets in Wales from 2019, then All Blacks attack coach under Ian Foster from 2020 until 2022. After spells with Scotland and Argentina he returned to the Crusaders as an assistant in 2025, part of their title-winning campaign.
