Felipe Contepomi was appointed Argentina head coach in December 2023 and took charge from the start of the 2024 season, succeeding Michael Cheika. He is Argentina’s record points scorer, a fly-half and centre who won 87 caps across four World Cups and was central to the side that finished third in 2007. After retiring he qualified as a doctor while beginning his coaching career, working as backs coach at Leinster before joining the Pumas set-up as attack coach and then stepping up to the top job.
