Pierre-Henry Broncan was confirmed as Georgia head coach on 6 January 2026 on a two-year contract running to the 2027 Rugby World Cup, but could not take up the role immediately because he was still under contract with CA Brive for the Pro D2 season. Marco Bortolami held the position on an interim basis until Broncan formally took charge in June 2026, and stayed on afterwards as forwards coach. Broncan’s first campaign was an unbeaten South American tour in the World Rugby Nations Cup, with wins over Uruguay, Samoa and Chile.
