About Richard Cockerill

Richard Cockerill took charge of Georgia in 2024 and led the Lelos for two years before leaving the role in December 2025. A former England hooker known as one of the most combative forwards of his era, he built a long coaching career at Leicester Tigers, Edinburgh and as forwards coach with England before moving into international head-coaching. Marco Bortolami took the side on an interim basis after his departure, before Pierre-Henry Broncan was appointed on a deal running to the 2027 Rugby World Cup.
