Stephen Meehan was named as the next head coach of Canada’s men’s team in December 2024 and took up the role the following year. He arrived with long experience in the European professional game, having coached at Bath and in the French leagues before moving into international rugby. In June 2026 Rugby Canada confirmed an extension keeping him in charge through to the end of 2028, giving the programme continuity as it works to return to the Rugby World Cup stage.
