About Xavier Sadourny
Xavier Sadourny is the head coach of Castres Olympique, taking charge from the 2025–26 season after being named as Jeremy Davidson’s successor in November 2024 on a three-year deal.
Born in Clermont-Ferrand in April 1977, he was a fly-half for Montferrand and Clermont, Castres, Brive and Lyon, where he made 144 appearances. He was never capped, and was voted Pro D2 player of the year by his fellow professionals in 2009.
A decade at Clermont
He began coaching at Lyon, then spent ten years at Clermont from 2013 — first in the academy and individual skills, then promoted in 2020 to first-team assistant with responsibility for attack and the kicking game. He left in January 2023 and joined Castres as backs coach.

He is an attack and kicking coach rather than a forwards man, and has publicly pushed Castres away from the attritional identity the club has been known for toward a more ambitious game plan. He has not yet won a trophy as a head coach.
