About Yannick Bru
Yannick Bru is the sporting manager of Union Bordeaux Bègles and has just delivered back-to-back Champions Cups, beating Leinster 41–19 in Bilbao in May 2026. His contract runs to 2029.
Born in Auch in May 1973, he was a hooker for Auch, Colomiers and Stade Toulousain, where he made 197 appearances. He won 18 France caps between 2001 and 2004 and, as a player, five French championships and three European Cups.
Coaching
He was Toulouse’s forwards coach from 2007 to 2012, part of the staff for three Top 14 titles and the 2010 Heineken Cup, then France forwards coach from 2012 to 2017. He was manager at Bayonne from 2018, winning two Pro D2 titles, and spent a season with the Sharks in Durban specifically to study South African forward play before taking over at Bordeaux in 2023.
