About JP Pietersen
JP Pietersen took interim charge of the Sharks in December 2025 after John Plumtree’s departure and was confirmed as permanent head coach on 18 February 2026 as part of a new high-performance structure at the franchise. A former South Africa wing who won 70 caps and was part of the 2007 World Cup-winning squad, he moved into coaching with the Sharks after retiring.
